Rita Bayless has nearly 30 years of student financial aid experience in four-year public, four-year private, and two-year public institutions. Most recently Director of Financial Aid at Colorado Mountain College, Rita was founder of one of the first student aid consulting firms. She has also worked as a consultant for two other higher education consulting organizations.
Rita worked extensively with financial aid organizations providing leadership and training. She was Secretary of the Kansas Association of Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA) and Treasurer of the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (RMASFAA.) She received distinguished service awards from both. Working with NASFAA, Rita has been committee chair of both the Training and Conference Committees, winning the committee of the year award for the latter. Developing topnotch training materials, and delivering presentations, for financial aid organizations across the country has been one of Rita’s unique skills throughout her career.
Rita has experience with several financial aid software products, including Ellucian (SunGard) Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, Ellucian (Datatel) Colleague, and the U.S. Department of Education’s NSLDS software.
Ms. Bayless received her bachelor’s degree from St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS and obtained a master of business administration from Friends University in Wichita, KS.
