Charlene Ervin has worked in the financial aid profession for nearly 20 years. She has worked at four-year schools in both the public and private sectors and two-year public institutions. As an FAS consultant, Charlene helps higher education institutions optimize the effectiveness of their financial aid operations.
She has experience with several educational software systems including SunGard Banner, Datatel Colleague, Georgia Student Finance Commission’s Surfer and Scholarnet, ELM, and the U.S. Department of Education’s EDExpress, COD System, and NSLDS.
Charlene began her career as an administrative assistant and steadily moved up through the ranks, serving as a counselor, assistant director, and then as financial aid director for eight years.
Charlene serves in a variety of leadership positions in professional organizations. She was a member of the Long-Range Planning Committee and served as diversity chair and secretary of the Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (GASFAA). Most recently, she served as the diversity chair of the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Association (SASFAA).
She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Bradley University.
