Darylann Thomas has worked in the financial aid profession for more than 25 years. In her position as a senior consultant with FAS, she specializes in financial aid regulations, compliance, and assisting Colleges and universities in optimizing their overall financial aid delivery process. Darylann assists institutions with managing operations, leading staff, and ensuring compliance. She has performed technical assessments, implemented and re-engineered the Ellucian (SunGard) Banner modules, and instituted operational procedures.

In her tenure at FAS, Darylann has completed dozens of successful Interim Staffing and Consulting engagements. Several institutions have utilized Darylann has an interim financial aid director for an extended period of time, ranging from six months to over two years.

She has extensive knowledge of Ellucian's (SunGard) Banner and (Datatel) Colleague systems, Oracle PeopleSoft, and College Board PowerFAIDS. She also has years of experience using the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of technology applications, including the EDExpress software, the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) platform and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).

Prior to joining FAS, Darylann was a business analyst with the Georgia Board of Regents, where she was part of the team responsible for the development, testing and implementation of the Ellucian (SunGard) Banner financial aid module. This included the Georgia-specific modifications for the 34 university-system institutions in Georgia. She also worked in the office of student financial aid at the University of Georgia, where she gained experience evaluating eligibility and counseling students as well as cash management and disbursement regulations.

Darylann received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia.
