Jeane Olson

Jeane has over 20 years of student financial services experience in both four-year public and four-year private institutions. As an independent consultant, she supports financial services offices across the country. She provides Interim Staffing, Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction, among other concerns.
Jeane is director of student accounts at Texas Wesleyan University (TX). In the past, she served the University of North Texas (UNT) Systems overseeing Student Financial Services for the main campus in Denton, the Health Science Center in Fort Worth, the Law School in Downtown Dallas, and the campus in South Dallas. Jeane also worked at Northern Arizona University (NAU) on the mountain campus. NAU had 32 different campus locations and also offered online personalized learning degrees. She began her career as Bursar/Manager of student accounts at Macalester College where she oversaw the implementation of Banner and TouchNet.
Jeane is experienced with several student financial software systems, including Ellucian (SunGard) Banner, Ellucian Colleague, and Oracle PeopleSoft. She has worked with third-party payment processors, including TouchNet and Nelnet.
Jeane served as a steering committee member for Minnesota (MN) Collection Network. For the past eight years, she has been a Board member for the Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations (COHEAO), and actively served on many of its committees. She has made countless presentations at COHEAO, MN Collection Network, and the Professional Development Group (PDG) serving college and university bursars. The topics range from collections 101 to compliance with federal regulations related to information security; identity theft protection; and unfair, deceptive, and abuse acts or practices.
Jeane received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Hamline University (MN).
