Sean Hudson

Sean Hudson has over 20 years of student financial aid and student accounts experience at four-year private institutions. Sean came to FAS in 2022. As a consultant, he supports financial aid offices across the country. He provides Interim Staffing, Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts and enhance student satisfaction.
His previous experience includes two stints at Canisius College, first in student accounts, then in financial aid. Sean also worked in financial aid at D’Youville College and Trocaire College. He joined FAS after serving as Director of Financial Aid and Student Accounts at Trocaire College. Sean has specific expertise in helping small private colleges meet their goals for enrollment, financial aid, business office operations and compliance. He specializes in improving efficiency and utilizing technology to improve processing. Sean excels in Student Loans and helped the University of New Hampshire strengthen its loan processing in his first assignment with Financial Aid Services. His years of experience working in Student Accounts and in a One-Stop-Shop, make him an asset to both offices.
Sean is experienced with several financial aid software systems, including Ellucian Banner, College Board PowerFAIDS, CAMS and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and websites for administering Federal Student Aid. He is also very familiar with New York’s Higher Education Services Corporation software that administers New York State Grants and Scholarships.
Sean served as Executive Council Representative for the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association’s (NYSFAAA) Region 1. Through his volunteer work with NYSFAAA, Sean has been a legislative advocate. In this role, he met with state legislators to promote financial aid awareness as well as the importance of New York’s state-sponsored aid programs. Sean has been on several committees for NYSFAAA. Early in his career, Sean received the NYSFAAA’s Rising Star Award and other recognitions for service to the association.
Sean received his Bachelor of Science degree from Long Island University and Master of Science degree from Canisius College.
