Katherine “Kathy” Jewett

Katherine Jewett has over 25 years of higher education experience, at the managerial level, in student business services with four-year public and private institutions. As one of Financial Aid Services’ (FAS) independent consultants for Student Business Services (SBS), she may be engaged to provide a bursar/student account office interim staffing in a managerial position or provide consulting services to assess and enhance business processes, address compliance issues and enhance customer service, among other concerns.
Her experience includes serving as the bursar at Marymount University (VA). Prior to that, she served as the bursar at the University of Massachusetts Boston (MA), University of Maryland Baltimore County (MD), and the Catholic University of America (D.C.). She started her career as the manager of student loans at Boston College (MA).
Throughout her career, Kathy has been an integral part of various leadership teams. This included being instrumental in the implementation of the PeopleSoft system for the University of Massachusetts five college system and the implementation of SCT’s loan system for Boston College. Additionally, she has been active in many campus- based professional groups and professional staff training including quality assurance initiatives.
Kathy has been active in many professional organizations including the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers (EACUBO), Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organization (COHEAO) and regional bursar groups. She served on the sponsorship cabinet for the implementation of the PeopleSoft system and the advisory board for SCT’s student loan system, as well as the program chair for national student loan conferences. She has presented at Sallie Mae conferences, as well as at student loan and student collection conferences.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts from Denison University (OH) and her Master of Education from Boston College (MA).
