Margherite Powell

Margherite Powell has over 30 years of student financial aid experience in both two-year and four-year and four-year institutions for not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Margherite Powell came to FAS in 2022. As a FAS consultant, she supports financial aid offices across the country. She provides Interim Staffing, Consulting, and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction.
Her previous experience includes tenure as Executive Director of Financial Aid, Dean for Student Services, Vice President of Compliance and Student Services, Corporate Director of Financial Aid, and Director of Financial Aid at several Colleges and Universities throughout the United States including Touro College and University System (now Touro University), St. Thomas University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, College of Saint Elizabeth, (now Saint Elizabeth University), GlobalHealth Education, and MedVance Institute.
Margherite has led and trained financial aid and enrollment teams and implemented financial aid staffing models that maximized efficiencies for customer service. She has presented at numerous open house events to prospective students and their families as well as provided outreach to the surrounding communities.
Margherite has hands-on experience with numerous financial aid software systems, including Ellucian (SunGard) Banner, Jenzabar, Power Campus, Ellucian Colleague (Datatel), College Board PowerFAIDS, CampusVUE, and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and website for administering Federal Student Aid.
Margherite has served as a member of the Regulatory Affairs Committee for the Association for Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) and has served as an executive board member for the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA). In addition, she served on the Louisiana Association of Financial Aid Administrators (LASFAA) and has presented at the LASFAA conferences on relevant financial aid topics.
Margherite received a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida.
