Mary Standerfer, FAAC®
Consultant
Mary Standerfer has over 26 years of student financial aid experience at a two-year institution. Mary came to FAS in 2023. As a consultant, she supports financial aid offices across the country. She provides Interim Staffing, Consulting, and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction.
Her previous experience includes tenure at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain, where she was director of financial aid services for over 18 years and served as financial aid officer for three years. For 18 years, she provided services to students and administration.
Mary is experienced with financial aid software systems, including College Board PowerFAIDS and CAMS-Three Rivers Enterprise and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and website for administering Federal Student Aid. Mary has also gained valuable experience in Heighten Cash Monitoring 2 (HCM2). She has assisted in the review of HCM2 files, multi-year reconciliation, compliance, and development of guides to assist HCM2 colleges in compliance with Federal funds.
She served as a mentor to her colleagues in financial aid through the Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (AASFAA). In addition, she served as a mentor for Arkansas VA School Certifying Officials. She has also presented numerous financial aid presentations to financial aid administrators, the UA Rich Mountain Board of Trustees, administration, counselors, parents, and students.
Mary received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.
